Chocolate Palmiers

If you’re a chocolate lover, this holiday treat is just for you! Chocolate Palmiers have a beautiful heart shape that they’re known for, filled with delicious chocolate-ness, it’s sure to be a favorite at the table this year.
To start you will need the following ingredients, frozen puff pastry sheets, an egg, granulated or turbinado sugar, cocoa powder and chocolate hazelnut spread.
Step one: In a small bowl, beat together the egg with a splash of water.
Step two: In a separate small bowl, combine 6 tbsp of sugar and cocoa powder.
Step three: Unfold one thawed pastry sheet and brush with egg wash. Sprinkle the countertop with the cocoa-sugar mixture and then place the egg-wash side down on sugar mixture.
Step four: Coat the top of the pastry with the gooey chocolate hazelnut spread. This was the hardest part, it’s pretty tricky to spread this out, do your best!
Step five: Roll up the 2 opposite short sides to meet in the center. Wrap in plastic wrap to refrigerate for 30 minutes. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for second pastry sheet. Points for you if you can spot this pastry with it’s awesome chameleon powers!
Step six: Preheat oven to 400 F. Line the baking tray with parchment or wax paper. Cut puff pastry rolls into 16 slices.
Step seven: Bake for 10-12 mins until golden brown and crisp. Sprinkle tops with remaining 2 tbsp cocoa-sugar mix. Cool on wire rack before serving. Store in airtight container for up to 5 days. Happy Holidays to all you chocolate lovers out there!
