I'm assuming you are asking if the clips are sharp? No they are not. I used two with a hanger at the place I stayed to hang pants to dry.

I believe your question is if the clips are "sharp" and they are not. They have soft plastic tips so they don't scratch or damage

The measurement across the widest part is about 1 5/8 inches. They're a loose fit on what I'd call a "regular-sized" shower rod.

They will fit a 1 1/2 inch rod. I use them in the laundry room and have the wire shelving in there and that is where I use them, to hand delicates.

I use mine on water and gas pipes in the basement laundry room. If you are using them in the basement, use a water pipe with fittings to make a rod as long as you like. Use a wood dowel of the right dimension in a closet--any hardware store.
